5. Obligations and rights of passengers
| 5.1. | Boarding and alighting are permitted for passengers only after the vehicle has stopped, and only from a boarding platform, and if there is no such platform, from the sidewalk or shoulder, and if this is impossible, then from the outermost lane of the roadway (but not from the side of the adjacent traffic lane), provided that this is safe and does not create obstacles for other road users. |

| 5.2. | Passengers using a vehicle must: a) sit or stand (if this is provided for by the vehicle design) in the places intended for this purpose, holding onto a handrail or another device; b) while traveling in a vehicle, use passive safety devices (headrests, seat belts where their installation is provided for by the design) (except for passengers with disabilities whose physiological characteristics make the use of seat belts impossible), and on a motorcycle or moped, wear a fastened helmet; c) not contaminate the roadway and the road reservation strip; d) not create a threat to road safety by their actions; e) in the event of stopping or parking of vehicles at their request in places where stopping, standing, or parking is allowed only for drivers carrying passengers with disabilities, upon the request of a police officer, present documents confirming the disability (except for passengers with obvious signs of disability). |
| 5.3. | Passengers are prohibited from: a) distracting the driver from operating the vehicle while it is in motion or interfering with them in doing so; b) opening the vehicle doors without making sure that it has stopped near the sidewalk, boarding platform, edge of the roadway, or on the shoulder; c) preventing the doors from closing and using the steps or protruding parts of vehicles for riding; d) standing in the body of a truck while it is moving, sitting on the sides, or in a seat not equipped for sitting. |
| 5.4. | In the event of a road traffic accident, a passenger of the vehicle involved in the accident must provide any possible assistance to the injured, report the accident to the body or authorized unit of the National Police, and remain at the scene until the police arrive. |
| 5.5. | A passenger, while using a vehicle, has the right to: a) safe transportation of themselves and their baggage; b) compensation for damage caused; c) receive timely and accurate information about traffic conditions and procedures. |
