13. Distance, interval, and oncoming passing
| 13.1. | Depending on the speed of movement, road situation, characteristics of the cargo being transported, and the condition of the vehicle, the driver must maintain a safe distance and safe interval. |
|---|---|
| 13.2. | On roads outside populated areas, drivers of vehicles whose speed does not exceed 40 km/h must maintain such a distance that vehicles performing overtaking can return without obstruction to the lane previously occupied. This requirement does not apply if the driver of a slow-moving vehicle gives warning signals about performing overtaking or bypassing. |
| 13.3. | During overtaking, passing, bypassing an obstacle, or oncoming passing, a safe interval must be maintained so as not to create a danger to road traffic. |
| 13.4. | If oncoming passing is difficult, the driver in whose lane there is an obstacle or whose vehicle dimensions obstruct oncoming traffic must give way. On road sections marked by signs 1.6 "Steep ascent" and 1.7 "Steep descent", if there is an obstacle, the driver of the vehicle moving downhill must give way. |
